DescriptionAssistant General Counsel, Full Time, Legal Services, UC HealthUC Health is hiring an Assistant General Counsel for the Department of Legal Services.The Assistant General Counsel will be responsible for contract review, negotiation and preparation for all UC Health departments and functions, including corporate, hospital, and physician divisions. This responsibility includes engaging with cross-functional teams to develop and adjust procedures, as needed based on the regulatory environment and the company’s business plans, to facilitate accomplishing corporate goals while complying with regulations. The Assistant General Counsel will also assist in other legal matters as assigned by the Senior Associate General Counsel and/or SVP & Chief Legal Officer.

ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities for this position will be related to Contract Administration and Compliance:Prepares, reviews, revises, and negotiates contracts for the corporate, hospital, and physician divisions.Reviews contracts and proposals for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Coordinates with the Contracts Program Manager on the administration and operation of the contract management system and contract processing and management policy.This position will also perform other duties as assigned at the direction of the Senior Associate General Counsel and/or VP-General Counsel, including but not limited to:Attending meetings, participating on committees, and performing other functions and duties which are customarily performed by in-house counsel.
QualificationsJuris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the State of Ohio required; however corporate counsel registration in Ohio may be considered if licensed to practice law and in good standing in another state.One (1) to four (4) years of legal experience practicing business law preferred.Experience in a healthcare setting and experience with compliance and/or regulatory functions preferred.
