Job DescriptionOVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:Hotel Manager is to function as the strategic, hands-on operations leader with direct oversight of Rooms, Food and Beverage and Engineering divisions, assisting the Managing Director with implementing hotel goals and initiatives. This role is highly visible in the operations on a daily basis providing direction and monitoring the "guest experience". This position "owns" all operational aspects of the hotel while working with peers on the executive committee and provides coverage in the absence of the Managing Director.
As an executive committee member, the Hotel Manager develops and implements hotel-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of external guests and internal guests and provides a return on investment to the owner and Rosewood Sand Hill.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist in providing day-to-day leadership and direction by maximizing financial returns, driving development of people, creating and maintaining a unique guest experience, executing on brand standards, and building awareness of hotel and brand in the local community.
Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotel to ensure optimum guest satisfaction, sales potential and profitability.
Make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the hotel and/or company and brand loyalty.
Direct day-to-day activities, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members.
Educate, train and motivate hotel staff while ensuring they have the information, market data, tools and equipment to successfully carry out job duties.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with key department heads.
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.
Serve as Manager On Duty.
Interact in courteous and professional manner with all guests, staff and community members.
Respond in courteous, professional and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and staff difficulties.
Supervise, direct, coordinate, influence and persuade staff in order to maintain service standards of hotel.
Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
All other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Minimum ten years’ hotel experience with at least five years’ experience at the Executive Level and experience in a minimum of three divisions of hotel operations.
Education: Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Hotel property management systems, in particular Opera and Micros.
Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 20 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
The salary range for this position is $168,000 to $188,000 annually. This position is eligible for bonus.
Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel luxury experience, location, and education.
