Product Development Designer (Hybrid)

Location: Framingham, MassachusettsJob Type: ContractCompensation Range: $40 - 45 per hourOur client, a leader in the retail space is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Product Development Designer to join their Kids Apparel team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing trend-focused artwork for children’s apparel, from concept through prototype. The ideal candidate has strong artistic skills, knowledge of trends, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities:Design and develop technically accurate artwork for product programs.Collaborate with the Product Development team throughout concept, artwork execution, and prototype stages.Create concept boards and freehand sketches; design artwork using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.Select color palettes in line with current trends and market preferences.Work with technical flats: sketch, fill, and develop detailed artwork layouts using Adobe Illustrator.Provide detailed call-outs on artwork layouts to ensure clear vendor communication.Stay updated on competitive products and market trends to create innovative designs.Qualifications:Experience level: ExperiencedDegree in Design or equivalent work experience.3+ years of experience in Product Development for relevant product categories (apparel preferred).Exposure to working with overseas vendors is a plus but not required.Expertise in Adobe Illustrator for creating and detailing technical flats.Strong understanding of garment construction (sweater knowledge is a plus).Knowledge of trends and color with the ability to create market-relevant designs.Strong organizational and follow-through skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work within a team environment and collaborate with vendors.Detail-oriented with the ability to anticipate problems and devise solutions.Ability to interpret conceptual design ideas and translate them into production-ready artwork. JOBID:  1069488#LI-CELLA#LI-CN1#PLEqual Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.At Cella, a randstad digital company, we welcome people of all abilities and want to ensure that our hiring and interview process meets the needs of all applicants.
