Summary THIS IS AN AIR FORCE NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) (MI 272 COS), Position Description Number NGD2328000 and is part of the MI 110 Airlift Wing, Michigan Air National Guard. Responsibilities ***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POISITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP*** This position is located in a Cyberspace Operations unit. This unit helps protect the nation's war-fighters' information, cyber mission systems, computer networks, critical infrastructure and key resources. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. Its purpose is to serve as the unit/detachment Commander, in charge of planning, scheduling, controlling, and directing all unit functions. Incumber performs analytical and evaluative duties related to the business of Cyberspace Operations. The incumbent is also responsible for coordination with the National Guard Bureau (NGB), Air Force Space Command (AFSPC), 24th and 25th Air Forces, active duty operational units, parent Cyberspace Operations Group (COG), and associated joint units. 1. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. 2. Manages Cyberspace Operations mission commitments, programs, and projects impacting personnel, equipment, software and services. Develops policies and procedures, short- and long- range plans to satisfy all Cyberspace Operations needs and taskings assigned to the unit. 3. Identifies and prioritizes funding and personnel resources needs and executes current year financial programs. Approves annual budgets for unit operations and Cyberspace Operations support functions. 4. Reviews incoming tasking orders, plans, or requests for forces and prepares summaries for higher headquarters. Determines capability of Cyberspace Operations and/or support personnel to met requirements specified in tasking orders, plans, or requests for forces; validates limitations concerning equipment capabilities, personnel, etc.; and coordinates with tasking activities from government agencies on requirements. 5. Provides technical and functional expertise concerning Cyberspace Operations missions to the parent Cyberspace Operations Group, host Wing, higher headquarters, and visiting Distinguished Visitors as required. Authors papers, briefings, and other correspondence that accurately represent the unit's mission, personnel, technical capabilities, accomplishments, limitations, and challenges. Military Grades: O4 - O5 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Months Required: 48 To qualify for either Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC) position, the applicant must have at least 24 months of managing or directing Cyberspace Operations mission commitments, programs, and projects that impacted personnel, equipment, software and services. Experienced in performing unit leadership duties in regard to planning, scheduling, controlling, and directing all unit functions. Competent in performing analytical and evaluative duties related to the business of Cyberspace Operations. Experiences included contact and coordination with the National Guard Bureau (NGB), Air Force Space Command (AFSPC), 24th and 25th Air Forces, active duty operational units, parent Cyberspace Operations Group (COG), and/or associated joint units. Program experiences involved developing policies and procedures, short-range and long-range plans that satisfied Cyberspace Operational unit needs and taskings. Skilled in the identification of problem areas and knowledgeable of required corrective actions to meet program capabilities and mission objectives. Experiences involved the interpretation of policy and procedural matters. Knowledgeable and skilled on planning and coordinating the utilization and maintenance of systems and facilities. Organizational experiences included the formulation and execution of budgetary, training, and organizational requirements, as well as, communications support requirements. Knowledgeable on how to determine the capability of Cyberspace Operations and/or support personnel to meet requirements specified in tasking orders, plans, or requests for forces. Knowledgably on validating unit mission limitations in regard to equipment capabilities and personnel readiness. Must have at least 24 months of supervisory experiences. Competent in performing the full-range of supervisory duties in regard to subordinates and managing personnel responsibilities. Skilled in advising, coaching, mentoring, and counseling employees to ensure understanding of the Air National Guard personnel programs, policies, to include senior management procedures and directives. Experienced in conducting interviews and selecting candidates for initial hires, reassignments, promotions, or formal details. Must have experiences and competence in regard to identifying Dual Status technician positions' Series qualification and/or certification requirements, training development, and compatible military skills. The supervisory experiences involved leading, planning, and scheduling program work in a manner that promoted smooth flow and even distribution of assigned work requirements. Experiences included training and guiding employees on cyberspace programs and assigning tasks. Supervisory experiences involved balancing mission program work requirements, aligning program policies, and providing advice, mentoring, and a wide-variety of directions. Experienced on coaching and counseling employees on issues in regard to behaviors and/or performance. Experienced in structuring work assignments that created effective and efficient procedures with measured and improved task processes. Must have demonstrated experiences and/or endorsements on employee mentorship competencies that improved working relationships and improved employees' performance. Supervisory experiences provided employees with improved Series training applications and completion of career development certifications and continuing education course programs. Supervisory experiences involved planning work requirements and assigning work to subordinates. Competent in establishing priorities and preparing schedules for work completion. Skilled in determining assignments based on priorities, degrees of difficulty, and program requirements. Knowledgeable and skilled on establishing performance standards, monitoring, and evaluating employees' performance. Experiences resulted in the employees' increased performance values in quality work, timeliness considerations, and work efficiencies. Must have working knowledge of equal employment and affirmative action programs. Must have experiences in managing and applying equal employment objectives, merit principles, performance standards, and diversity objectives. Knowledgeable on procedures and requirements for military and civilian awards and within-grade increase approval protocols. Experiences included resolving employee complaints or initiating corrective measures required for performance, behavior, or conduct problems. Must have experiences in the intelligence programs, certifications, and security responsibilities that ensured full compliance with Information Assurance Management programs and security directives for employees with access to classified or sensitive material. Skilled and knowledgeable to recognize environmental threats to the health or safety of subordinates and experiences included corrective actions to valid work condition concerns. Skilled and knowledgeable in managing and prioritizes funding and personnel resource needs and executes current year financial programs. Education You must meet the following Education requirement to qualify for this position: Air National Guard Officers: An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is mandatory. The degree MUST be in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services with desired courses in Computer Engineering; Engineering Physics / Applied Physics; Industrial Engineering; Electromechanical Engineering; Electrical, Electronics and Communications; Computer Technology / Computer Systems Technology; Cyber / Electronics Operations and Warfare; Mathematics and Computer Science; Accounting and Computer Science; Computational Science; and Management Information Systems; or Mathematics. A graduate degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services is optimum. You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims.
