Enterprise Digital & Data Solutions (EDDS) creates unified digital experiences for prospects and members across the entire customer lifecycle, powered by data and supports AXP growth by designing best-in-class digital & data capabilities and platforms.

The objective of the Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions (EDDS) Control Management Governance team is to establish the Operational Risk and Controls strategy for EDDS, set up a foundational governance structure that ensures operational risks are identified, assessed, and managed in compliance with enterprise Operational Risk Management programs and reporting.

EDDS is looking for a Senior Manager of Governance & Risk Advisory focused on ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.

How will you make an impact in this role?

The Senior Manager, EDDS Governance & Risk Advisory will:

Operate as a front-door to Operational Risk Management (ORM) and help Business Unit (BU) and functional partners navigate ORM for clear solutions to BU-related risk questions.

Facilitate risk awareness and education within product and service teams to enhance their ability to manage risks effectively.

Facilitate the understanding and use of the risk governance framework across BUs through regular communication.

Coordinate with product development and service delivery teams to embed ORM considerations into the product lifecycle and service operations.

Manage the support of the development of operational risk framework to enable effective risk management and decision making in the BU.

Assess the needs of BU and functional leaders to ensure sufficient understanding of ORM and controls (e.g., annual knowledge assessments and refresher trainings).

Compile best practices and learnings from historical product launches and change management initiatives, and share as appropriate.

Support sharing insights, better practices, themes, etc. across the enterprise.

Minimum Qualifications

4 Years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities.

Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards.

Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous.

Experience in at least one of the following:

Translating operational risk strategy and appetite into execution guidelines.

Review the tracking and identifying of issues with Key Risk Indicator (KRI) limits and risk appetite to ensure operational risks are managed within agreed thresholds.

Oversee the implementation of the operational risk governance frameworks.

Communicating and ensuring understanding and adherence to operational risk procedures and standards.

Manage the operational risk exam management processes.

Experience in financial services industry.

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
