The facility is located at the Port of Iberia.**_What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be_**Weld by arc method using gas shielded flux-cored wire, semi-automaticWeld on carbon, alloy or stainless steel plate, sheet, shapes, castings or other parts included in fabricated steel workInterpret drawings and welding symbolsSelect the correct welding wire and adjust welding machine to make the welds specifiedOperate arc gouging equipmentProduce welds which are acceptable in strength and appearance in flat, horizontal and vertical positions using gas-shielded flux core wire welding proceduresClean welds by grinding or brushing where requiredJudge proper setup for weldingApply welding sequences which will prevent excessive shrinkage or distortionLearn the Weld Map and Welding Procedure Specification requirementsDemonstrate an understanding of the proper use of hand tools, grinders and welding equipmentAssist Welders and Fitters in cleaning, moving, holding, clamping and preparing work piecesRequired to work at elevated heights up to 75ftAddl duties and responsibilities may be assigned**_Your Education Should Be_**High school diploma or equivalentAble to pass 2G, 3G and 4G skill testsTwo years experience as a welder or technical welding programKnowledge of shop math preferredRequirements may be obtained through on-the-job training**_Your Physical Work Environment Will Require_****_Your Professional Experience Should Be_**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
