Junior Linux Systems Administrator

General Summary
Performs technical support and oversight for Linux and Windows systems to include, but not limited to planning, designing, evaluating, and maintaining RHEL7, RHEL8, CentOS Rocky8, Ubuntu, Windows 10, and Windows 11 deployment and support.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)
Collaborate with Lab Engineers to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
Demonstrated experience with STIGs, vulnerability scans, and data-at-rest encryption.*
Install and maintain all software & licenses to support testing.
Configure and maintain all underlying virtualization host infrastructure and logical constructs.
Review network/system configurations to ensure compliance with security requirements.
Maintain and control access and accounts.
Maintain local documentation, scripts, deployment methods, and diagrams.
Maintain software update repositories and apply update strategies.
Automate most common system actions.
Maintain the existing server and host infrastructure.
Analyze current technologies used within the system and determine ways to improve.
Assist with tests to ensure networks and systems meet documented user requirements.
Assist with conducting security assessments following defined security policies and procedures.
Assist ISSM/ISSO with developing Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation documentation, SOPs, policies, POA&Ms, and work instructions.

Required SkillsRequired Experience
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
+ Minimum of two years work related experience
+ Current CompTIA Security+ CE or other DoD 8570 IAT-II Baseline Certification
+ Linux OS Certification (Linux+) or certificate of course completion
+ Excellent communication skills and customer service
+ Active Secret security clearance; US citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with System Virtualization
+ Experience with Ansible Playbooks
