The role of the First Assist will be to participate in and actively assist surgeons during the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care. This position will assist in completing the operation safely and expeditiously by helping to provide exposure, maintain hemostasis, and other technical functions under the supervision of the surgeon. Must be able to travel to and between operating rooms at a rapid pace. Inpatient post-operative care will also be required. Must have good organization, judgment, problem solving, and safety awareness skills. The ideal candidate will thrive working in a high paced academic environment with focus on teamwork and excellent patient care.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
