The Outpatient Oncology Clinical Nurse II serves in a leadership role and delivers direct patient care to an assigned adult orthopaedic surgical oncology outpatient population. This nurse is experienced and highly skilled with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the cancer disease and surgical processes, the major treatment modalities, symptom management, supportive care, and patient education. At this operational level, the nurse proactively embraces the Oncology Nursing Society/Standards of Oncology Nursing practice to utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. The nurse utilizes an interdisciplinary approach across the continuum of care with adherence to National Patient Safety Goals set forth by regulatory requirements. The nurse is recognized and utilized as a clinical resource and demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the unit and the organization.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $84.78 - $109.85 (Hourly Rate).Department Description

The UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center is an accredited National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center. The NCI-Designation recognizes the scientific leadership, resources, and the depth and breadth of the research in basic, clinical and population science. As a Comprehensive Cancer Center, we demonstrate the added depth and breadth of research as well as substantial transdisciplinary research that bridges these scientific areas. The clinical services encompass adult and pediatric tumors across three campuses as well as regional satellite locations. The clinical cancer program is one of the largest clinical services at UCSF Medical Center and encompasses roughly 230 non-physician FTEs, 90+ cost center, and dozens of grant and philanthropic funding sources. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locationsMinimum two (2) years of recent outpatient clinic medical and surgical oncology nursing experience in the last five (5) yearsKnowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the positionPreferred Qualifications

OCN Certification or other relevant specialty certificationFive (5) years or more of recent Medical Oncology experienceFive (5) years or more of recent Surgical Oncology experienceOne (1) year of Telephone Triage nursing experienceBSNLicense/Certification
