Salary: $95,000 - $130,000 per year
A bit about us:Relocation Available! The Director of Technical Services is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of technical services, including quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and thermal processing within the food manufacturing environment. This position requires a deep understanding of food science, USFDA regulations, and the unique challenges associated with low and high acid foods. The Director will ensure that all products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives across the production process.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products and processes comply with USFDA regulations, particularly in the areas of low and high acid foods. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant food safety standards and implement necessary changes to keep the company compliant.
- Quality Assurance: Lead the quality assurance team to monitor and maintain the highest standards of product quality. Develop and implement quality control systems and procedures to ensure consistency and excellence in all products.
- Thermal Processing: Oversee the development and validation of thermal processes, ensuring that all products are processed safely and effectively. Work closely with the R&D and production teams to optimize thermal processing methods.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality control. Serve as the company’s expert on food safety and technical services.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process to enhance product quality, efficiency, and safety. Identify areas for improvement and lead projects to implement innovative solutions.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the technical services team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Ensure that all team members are trained and equipped to meet the company’s high standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical services role within the food manufacturing industry, with a focus on low and high acid foods.
- In-depth knowledge of USFDA regulations and food safety standards.
- Strong experience with thermal processing and quality assurance in a food manufacturing setting.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
