Salary: $130,000 - $155,000 per year

The Senior Project Architect provides daily leadership and mentorship to the project team, guiding both design and technical aspects as projects progress through various phases. This role involves developing architectural designs and documentation from schematic design through the construction phase, ensuring adherence to industry standards while often serving as the lead for the documentation team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Leadership:
- Take on project management responsibilities, including organizing client and consultant meetings, maintaining communication, and ensuring project requirements are met.
- Lead the project through all phases, from initial design concept through construction administration, ensuring quality and accuracy in documentation and execution.
- Develop detailed project documentation requirements based on research, consultations with the Project Manager and key stakeholders, and client discussions.
- Create innovative solutions to meet client architectural requirements, addressing project complexities and specific needs.
- Collaborate with the design team to craft a comprehensive project design that aligns with the client's vision, budget, and schedule. Offer technical guidance on materials and design choices to optimize project outcomes.
- Oversee the preparation of technical documentation (drawings and specifications) for all project phases, ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Manage the development of the project product manual, documenting key design decisions.
- Lead a team of technical staff to establish and implement project technical documentation requirements and solutions.
- Coordinate with consultants to integrate structural, electrical, and mechanical documentation with architectural plans, ensuring timely completion. Facilitate meetings with engineers to align architectural and engineering elements.
- Conduct code analyses, ensuring project documentation complies with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Perform construction administration tasks, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to requests for information, conducting site visits, and updating documents as needed.
Document Team Leadership:
- Define project documentation requirements, communicating them clearly to team members to develop a milestone schedule for contract documents.
- Complete code analyses and verify that documentation meets regulatory requirements.
- Develop a work plan for the documentation team, delegating tasks and monitoring progress to stay within budget and meet project deadlines.
- Establish documentation milestones and integrate them into the overall project schedule.
- Lead and direct the documentation team, coordinating efforts with both internal and consultant team members to meet project quality standards.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Project Manager.
- Identify submittals for review during construction administration and approve any elements that deviate from contract documents.
- Assist in making document modifications required during construction.
- Ensure the quality of drawings and specifications, coordinating consultant contributions and executing design details consistently with the project’s intent.
- Incorporate quality assurance review comments and compile record documents, finalizing project data for internal records.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist in quality control reviews, identifying potential conflicts and ensuring compliance with local and state building codes.
- Support business development efforts by participating in proposal and interview processes, and contributing to the preparation and presentation of materials.
- Take on special projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree required.
- Minimum of 10 years of architectural experience, including supervisory and management roles.
- Licensed Architect with professional registration required.
- Advanced skills in computer-aided design and information management, particularly in Revit.
