The University of New Mexico, College of Education and Human Sciences, Department of Health, Exercise & Sport Sciences,invites applications for an Open-Rank Professor in Health Education, beginningAugust 2025.
Responsibilities:The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of community health education-level courses in community health education potentiallyincluding the areas of Management of Health Promotion Programs; AdvancedCommunity Health Education Research; Community Health Education ProgramPlanning, Development & Evaluation; Measurement & Evaluation in HealthPromotion; and Epidemiology; advise master's-level graduate students specializing in community healtheducation; and meet the needs for service in the department, college,university, and community. Thecandidate is expected to maintain an active research agenda.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:1. Ph.D. in Community Health Education, Public Health, or closely related field from an accredited institution by start date.
Preferred Qualifications:1. Experience teaching college or university-level courses in health education/public health programs or related field.2. Experience teaching undergraduate/graduate online/F2F courses specifically related to: Management of Health PromotionPrograms; Advanced Community Health Education Research; Community Health Education Program Planning, Development &Evaluation; Measurement & Evaluation in Health Promotion; and Epidemiology.3. Experience with administrative, program coordination, and leadership skills (i.e. Field Experience, Master's Thesis, etc.).4. Active involvement in field (i.e. prior related employment, professional organization membership, etc.).5. Experience in ability to conduct, publish, and present original research in related areas of health education/public health orrelated field (e.g. peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations).6. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, student success, and working with broadly diverse communities.
