Position SummaryThis position supports the administrative and operational needs of the department by working closely with executives as well as fellow administrative assistants while representing the department in a professional and welcoming manner.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.CLINICALRescheduling patients from the generated Epic report when provider cancellations occurOther miscellaneous duties as assigned by the practice manager, executive administrative assistant, or chairmanObtaining prior authorizations for medicationsMake patient appointmentsADMINISTRATIVESorting and opening mailSorting and routing faxes from the fax queue to administrative assistants based on their assigned providersScanning documents into Epic via OnBaseAssisting schedulers with appointment queueYou must contact Employee Health Services within 5 days of the start date for evaluation as to what exposure risk, if any is related to this position.Minimum QualificationsEducationHigh school or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Strong knowledge of medical terminology.ExperienceA minimum of 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.Prior experience working with patient records, billing, and scheduling in a clinical setting.Physical Requirements Walk, bend, twist, and reach above shoulder frequently in an office settingMust be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs. as part of the roleRegularly exposed to healthcare setting that may require personal protective equipmentRequires manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipmentAbout GW MFAMFA physicians provide comprehensive patient care, offering one practice for the whole person with 52 medical and surgical specialties.
