We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent HIM Director to join our team in the Healthcare industry. This position will play a crucial role in managing our health information systems, ensuring they meet medical, legal, and ethical standards. As a Permanent HIM Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the collection, analysis, and protection of patient information. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about healthcare, information management, and leadership.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage all functions of the Health Information Management (HIM) department, including medical records, coding, and privacy.
  2. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the handling of patient health information, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records.
  4. Lead and manage the HIM team, promoting ongoing professional development and maintaining a positive work environment.
  5. Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  6. Develop strategies for managing and utilizing data to improve patient care and outcomes.
  7. Serve as a subject matter expert on HIM, providing guidance and support to staff and leadership.
  8. Participate in strategic planning and budgeting for the HIM department.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
  2. Must hold a certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a HIM leadership role within a healthcare setting.
  4. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and billing processes.
  5. Excellent understanding of health information systems and databases.
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HIM policies and procedures.
  7. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Ability to work collaboratively with other department leaders to achieve organizational goals.
  10. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  11. Proficiency in the use of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  12. Understanding of HIPAA and other healthcare-related laws and regulations.
