About the role
The Underwriting Manager for Group Captives will lead a team of underwriters and drive the execution of underwriting strategies and guidelines within Group Captives including, pricing, marketing, staff, business development, renewals, budget/expenses, and new product development.
What you need to know:
Onboard new business opportunities.
Handle up to 2 medium-sized Group Captive accounts.
Maintain clear and concise underwriting files and perform self-audits for other underwriters.
Communicate risk appetite/Captive Solutions Value Proposition to brokers.
Work with Associate Underwriter(s) to ensure booking and coding on accounts are completed.
Resolve account-related questions from internal peers and/or Clients/ Brokers that are within their scope; or escalate to leadership.
Participate in client (internal/external) conference calls.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with the Producers and Captive Intermediaries.
What we are looking for:
At least 5+ years of commercial professional experience, with a focus on alternative risk or captive business.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
Demonstrated sales, marketing and relationship building experience.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Highly motivated and results-oriented.
Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions.
Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain a can-do-attitude.
For positions based in New York City the base salary range is $105,000-$130,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
