Overview:New York Medical College, an affiliated institution of Touro University, is conducting a search for Division Chief and Program Director of the Division of Physical Therapy in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences within the School of Health Sciences and Practice (SHSP) based in Westchester County, New York. The new Division Chief and Program Director will be hired at the rank of Associate Professor/Professor, depending on experience and qualifications. The division offers a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Responsibilities:
Administration of the Division of Physical Therapy
Supervision and management of the division faculty and staff
Manage the fiscal operations of the department in coordination with the Chair of the Department of Rehabilitation Science and the Dean’s Office
Annual evaluation of faculty and staff performance
Mentoring of division faculty
Ensure college, school, departmental and division policies and procedures are followed
Service on critical school-wide committees such as the Dean’s Leadership Council, Academic Policy Council, and the Academic Leadership Team
Administration and/or oversight of DPT Program, which includes the following:
Coordination of the admissions process with the departmental Admissions Committee and Senior Associate Dean Administration and Enrollment
Coordination of class scheduling
Coordination of clinical education with the Director of Clinical Education
Mentoring of students
Development and maintenance of communication system for student performance and professional behaviors
Development and maintenance of programmatic outcomes tracking system, evaluation of the program each semester, and provision of recommendations to the Chair and Dean for improvement
Maintenance of requirements for CAPTE accreditation

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
An earned academic doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc. or equivalent in a closely related field)
Holds or is eligible to hold the rank of associate professor or professor
A minimum of six years of full-time higher education experience as a core faculty member in Physical Therapy
Licensed Physical Therapist (DPT/PT) who is eligible for licensure in the state of New York
Experience in curriculum development and assessment
Experience in management of academic program resources such as budgets, faculty and staff, and facilities
Excellent leadership skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A strong record of teaching and evidence of scholarship
Collaborative reputation and spirit
Demonstrated energy and initiative to grow/expand the physical therapy program
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in CAPTE accreditation
History of research/scholarship in the field of physical therapy, including presentations and peer-reviewed publications
Previous experience as a DPT program director and/or as a director of clinical education in physical therapy
Recent and relevant clinical experience as a practicing physical therapist
Evidence of leadership in a professional physical therapy organization at a state or national level
Salary:Minimum Salary: USD $130,000.00/Yr. Maximum Salary: USD $160,000.00/Yr.
