SCHEDULE

40 hours per weekPrimarily day shifts but will have 24/7 accountability for program management and the delivery of quality care

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONThe UWMC-NORTHWEST OUTPATIENT SURGERY CENTER provides ambulatory surgery in 4 ORs. The Nurse Manager oversees the Pre-Surgery Admitting (PSA), Operating Room (OR), and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) staff and patient care areas.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS• The Nurse Manager has accountability and responsibility for managing the Surgery Center to provide safe, efficient, and quality patient-centered care.• Direct and coordinate all activities of the patient care unit including planning, implementing, and evaluating unit programs to meet specific patient care needs.• The Nurse Manager is responsible for hiring and supervising unit staff, managing the unit budget, and providing leadership to promote professional practice.• Report directly to the Assistant Administrator, Surgical Services.• The Nurse Manager ensures efficient, high-quality, and safe patient care.• Participate as a member of the UWMC – Northwest Surgical Services Leadership Team.

REQUIREMENTS• One year experience in nursing leadership or equivalent experience.• Ability to clearly formulate and articulate concepts to small and/or large groups.• Experience in conflict resolution, critical analysis, stress management, and diplomacy.• Ability to oversee multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Washington.• Current BCLS certification.
