We care for people so they can be their best.The Social and Meeting Connections Event Planning Manager's primary focus is servicing our Local Sales bookings and wedding room blocks. They will also handle Rooms Only Group bookings, including corporate and Meeting Connections of 10 – 25 guest rooms. This position acts as the liaison between clients and the hotel's operational departments. Responsibilities include detailing all Food & Beverage, room setup, and A/V needs, as well as managing room blocks, billing, and final review. The Social and Meeting Connections Event Planning Manager also acts as on-site contact and supports operational departments to ensure a high-level execution of all events.Some of the responsibilities include:Work closely with clients to understand their event requirements.Plan events across key market segments, including catering, charity, corporate events, socials, and weddings.Aim to exceed all department revenue and profitability objectives.Coordinate with clients and the operations team to ensure effective event execution.Arrange and run client meetings, menu tasting sessions, and planning appointments.Conduct thorough site inspections to ensure spaces meet client expectations.Monitor client budgets while seeking opportunities to build revenue.Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless execution of events.Maintain good relationships with vendors and venue owners.Meet and greet in-house meeting planners to ensure total client service.Oversee event setups prior to the commencement of functions.Conduct pre and post-event analysis for continuous improvement.Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by senior management.Qualifications:A minimum of 2-3 years of hotel event sales/event planning or comparable experience.Understanding of the luxury market with a strong desire for service excellence.Refined verbal and written communication skills, along with creativity and problem-solving ability.High-level commitment to service excellence and teamwork.Proficient in general computer knowledge, including event planning software.Detail-oriented and organized, able to manage a fast-paced environment.Strong food and beverage knowledge to customize offerings for clients.Why Work at Hyatt?Enjoy free meals in our colleague cafeteria for every shift worked.Free parking on-site.1 hour of sick pay earned for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours/year.Discounted & Complimentary hotel room nights.Flexible Spending Account (Full-Time colleagues).Retirement Savings Plan.Basic Life Insurance.PTO earned based on hours worked, up to 17 days in your first year (Full-Time & Part-Time).Opportunities to work around the world with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts.End of Season Ski Pass Bonus.Hyatt associates work in an environment that demands exceptional performance yet reaps great rewards.
