Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 2 Years Minimum Experience Required License: Valid State License Required Certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience in adult critical care, emergency department, transports - Proficiency in endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning - Ability to care for patients with ARDS, COVID, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia - Familiarity with medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Lidocaine, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Tobramycin, Xopenex - Skills in aerosol setup mask, hand-held devices, T-piece, trach collar, bag and mask, ET tube, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, Flow-by, CPAP, IMV (intermittent mandatory ventilation) - Competency in troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation - ABG interpretation and chest physiotherapy - Drawing arterial blood gases Job Description: - Perform advanced respiratory care in critical and emergency settings - Assist in intubation and extubation procedures, ensuring secure airway management - Provide robust support in patient care involving ARDS, COVID, and fresh tracheostomy recovery - Administer various respiratory medications with precision and appropriate dose adjustments - Set up and manage aerosol delivery systems and ventilation support devices - Troubleshoot alarms and ensure proper ventilation parameters are maintained - Interpret arterial blood gases efficiently and conduct chest physiotherapy as needed - Engage in community hospital practices with an emphasis on teaching hospital experience - Participate in rotating weekend and holiday schedules as required - Adhere to mandatory vaccination requirements, excluding COVID-19 vaccines This facility requires all staff to have the flu vaccine, with no exemptions allowed. The orientation includes 28 hours, of which 50% are non-billable. Modules are part of the orientation process and require completion prior to the start date. Experience in community and teaching hospitals is preferred, and previous charge experience is advantageous.
