Senior Internal Auditor

NextStep Recruiting is partnering with a financial services client in Dallas to find a Senior Auditor. In this role, you will plan and execute financial and operational internal audits, as well as conduct SOX testing. You'll develop comprehensive audit programs tailored to operational and financial risks, focusing on enhancing efficiency and effectiveness across corporate activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all phases of audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting, following established internal audit policies.Gather and analyze audit evidence to form an objective opinion on the effectiveness of the control and compliance systems.Collaborate with key stakeholders to discuss draft findings and assess management's action plans before finalizing audit reports.Prepare and communicate audit reports to management and senior executives.Oversee issue validation testing to ensure prompt management follow-up on findings.Support external auditors and regulators as needed.Assess controls and compliance in specialized areas, including Capital Markets and BSA/AML.Review regulatory compliance as applicable.Pursue professional certifications and commit to ongoing professional development.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field; Master's preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or internal audit.Desired certifications include CPA and/or CIA; other relevant certifications will be considered.Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
