We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Engineering to join our team and drive our engineering initiatives to new heights.Job Summary:

The Vice President of Engineering will lead and oversee the engineering department, ensuring the successful execution of distributions, transmission and substation projects, innovation in design, and adherence to industry standards. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and exceptional leadership skills.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Management:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, designers, CAD/GIS techs, ROW agents and managers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement the strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. Identify emerging technologies and trends to keep the company at the forefront of the industry.Project Oversight:

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.Technical Expertise:

Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team. Review and approve designs, specifications, and technical documentation.Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments, including System Control and Field Operations, and Public Relations, to ensure seamless integration of engineered solutions.Budget Management:

Develop and manage the Engineering budget. Optimize resource allocation and cost efficiency.Compliance and Standards:

Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulations, codes, laws, and safety protocols. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience engineering in the electric utility industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Skills:

Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.Technical Proficiency:

In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design, and analysis. Proficiency in relevant software and tools.Certification:

Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Alaska or equivalent certification, required.
