Customer Service Representative (CSR) - Join the Vallen Team!

Are you passionate about delivering top-notch service and ensuring customer satisfaction? At Vallen, we're looking for a proactive and dedicated Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our team!

In this role, you’ll be working directly at a customer site, managing the purchasing process and building relationships to help us exceed customer expectations for price, quality, timing, and supply reliability.

Compensation: Starting at 19/hr. Competitive Benefits are included!

What You’ll Do:

As a Vallen CSR, you’ll be the vital link between our customers and suppliers. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Procurement Management – Meet customer demand by coordinating the purchase of stock and non-stock items, aligned with Vallen’s purchasing strategies.
• Order Optimization – Expedite, de-expedite, and adjust orders to ensure optimal delivery.
• Vendor Relations – Source, assess, and recommend vendors and items that meet specifications for quality, price, and timeliness.
• Quality & Timeliness Assurance – Monitor deliveries and manage the return or replacement of damaged goods as needed.
• Proactive Communication – Keep customers informed on order status and collaborate with vendors to resolve issues.
• Relationship Building – Cultivate strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and vendors to enhance service efficiency.
• Problem Solving – Research and resolve account discrepancies with suppliers.
• Cost Savings – Identify and document potential customer cost-saving opportunities.
• Worksite Maintenance – Follow all Vallen and customer Standard Operating Procedures to keep a clean, organized work environment.

Who You Are:

You’re detail-oriented, organized, and a natural problem-solver. You bring strong communication skills and have a proactive, customer-first mindset. A successful CSR will have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in Procurement (preferred but not required)
• Outstanding Customer Service abilities
• Tech-Savvy Skills – Comfortable with MS Office and eager to learn ERP and Inventory Management applications
• Strong Communication Skills – Clear, concise, and effective verbal and written communication
• Independent & Self-Motivated – Capable of working independently with a strong attention to detail

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Dynamic Workspaces – This role may include working in a manufacturing environment, with potential exposure to varying conditions such as heat, cold, and smoke. Safety gear may be required based on the customer’s protocols.
• Physical Requirements – Regular sitting, occasional walking, and lifting (up to 25 lbs).
• Flexibility with Hours – Overtime may be necessary with limited notice to meet customer needs.
