Job Title: Registered Nurse - NICU Job Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Previous Level III NICU Experience - Central Line Maintenance (PICC/UVC/UAC) - Experience with Intubated/Vented Patients - Experience with Bubble CPAP/NIPPV - Experience with Gestational Age as low as 23 weeks - IV Drips Job Description: - Assist with case load in a 22-bed NICU unit, which can flex up with twins. - Work in a team of approximately 50 RNs, with staffing adjusted based on census. - Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4, depending on patient acuity. - Operate various types of equipment, including Giraffe isolettes, Medfusion 3500 syringe pumps, Baxter Sigma Spectrum infusion pumps, and multiple ventilators. - Utilize Meditech for EMR documentation. - Participate in procedures including Circumcision assistance, NGT placement, IV starts, and lab draws (heel stick/arterial draw). - Administer medications via IV, PO, and SubQ routes. - Assist with diagnostic procedures such as ECG, UGI/Barium Enema, MRI, and HUS. - Provide excellent patient and family-oriented care with strong teamwork and a positive attitude. - Float to Mother-Infant Unit to care for well babies, with optional floating to Pediatrics and PICU. - Wear navy scrubs or hospital-provided ceil blue scrubs. - Follow unit guidelines with huddles at the start and end of each shift, and bedside reporting. - Work schedule determined by director based on unit needs, with traveler preferences considered. - No on-call requirements.
