About the role
The Senior Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring various mechanical components meet production standards by performing dimensional inspections. This person will manage the Incoming Inspection Lab, train inspectors, specify and manage inspection equipment, and apply continuous improvement methods.

Ensures inspection lab is fully equipped and setup and capable for efficient operationPerforms inspection of incoming materials per manufacturing specifications using a variety of mechanical inspection methods, tools, and equipmentReviews drawings and specifications, and recommends improvements for manufacturability, cost, and safetyRecords, tracks and reports inspection results and supports corrective actionsMaintains tools and equipment condition in good order and in calibrationInitiates continuous process improvements to support company objectives and plansAbout you
HS diploma or GED required with 2 year technical degree, or related vocational training and 2+ years related experience, or 5 years related experience and ability to demonstrate competency.Able to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, including GD&THighly capable in the use of micrometers, calipers, inside micrometers, bore & pin gages, indicators, squares, protractors, and surface metrologyCMM programming/inspection experience; PC-DMIS and/or MicroVu experience a plus.Quality Inspector Certification (ASQ CQI) preferred.Basic math and ability to calculate and convert units of measure (metric / US units)Ability to write procedures and processes to support new products and suppliersGood problem-solving skills, and continuous improvement mindedProactive self-starter, takes initiative and able to work independently to complete tasks; informs supervisor when support and/or direction is needed.Excellent written, verbal communication and team working skillsFosters teamwork, collaboration, and positive relationships with all stakeholders.Willingness, and ability to help other teams, and train / mentor other inspectorsAble to use MS Office / Google suite; Creo/Solidworks a plusAble to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and visual acuity to discern and handle small partsBenefits
