Summary
The Warehouse/Receiving Manager plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received from suppliers, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so products and supplies are located and distributed to customers in an effective and efficient manner.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the Warehouse and Receiving functions effectively and efficiently.
Plan and coordinate work, train and motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of Warehouse and Receiving associates; ensure their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations; counsel, record, and discipline as necessary.
Monitor the unloading of all materials into the Receiving department; ensure materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensure Receiving reports accurately report material received.
Resolve discrepancies with the Accounting department regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
Monitor the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry. Oversee the movement of product in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
Ensure products are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures. Oversee the rotation of inventories within the Warehouse.
Coordinate work hours including scheduling, approving time off requests, tracking absences, and managing overtime.
Assist management in performing annual performance reviews with receivers.

Working Conditions
This job operates in a Warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing, and fax machines.
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Sunday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at a minimum (depending on freight arrival).
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is largely an active role; however, some paper filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Education and Experience
High school graduate with 3 to 5 years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or materials management in a distribution environment, with 2 years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge of bar code technology and electronic data interchange.
Knowledge of the types of produce and produce handling and storage requirements.
Knowledge of food safety practices.
Well organized with a good understanding of the receiving processes.
Strong supervisory skills particularly with a diverse, front-line workforce and able to inspire performance.
Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
Capable of driving a forklift and operating a pallet jack.
Positive and cooperative attitude, able to work well with vendors, distributors, and customers.
