National Sales Manager Sports Medicine

At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.The National Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the team and the sales and profitability performance of the Sports Medicine franchise. This role will also be responsible for managing the marketing activities required to achieve the objectives. Critical success factors in this role include ability to manage people managers, establishing and maintaining long-term productive and professional relationships with key customers and key opinion leaders as well as being up to date with the legislative, regulatory, and competitive landscape.What will you be doing?Performance Management: Lead the team to achieve sales, profitability, and key KPIs, manage pricing strategy, and oversee marketing activities and budget.Market Intelligence: Monitor competitors, industry trends, and local market developments.Forecasting & Long-Term Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans (3-5 years) covering portfolio, segmentation, pricing, and sales force effectiveness. Provide accurate forecasts and present sales/expense plans.Customer & Stakeholder Management: Build strong customer relationships and collaborate with internal teams.Training & Education: Ensure product knowledge development and represent the company at events.Compliance: Uphold high standards for compliance, quality, safety, and regulatory practices.What will you need to be successful?8+ years experience in the healthcare industry, particularly with a background in ortho or sports medicine and in various functions (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Business Development, etc.)4+ years experience in leading Sales teamProficiency in English is required, along with excellent communication skillsDrive, high energy, maturity, ability to work under pressure and deliver results against tight deadlines.Strong collaborative abilities & being able to operate with minimal supervision but know when to consult/inform managersWilling to travel approx 20-40% of working timeYou.
