Job Description - Executive Producer (Houston Public Media) (STA015074)Organization

Oversees Houston Public Media (HPM) strategy execution of news on all platforms, ensuring collaborative and effective news coverage and marketing.Develops and produces media for various projects in accordance with PBS Editorial Standards.Oversees and provides guidance to producers, reporters, and digital staff.Coordinates media distribution and promotion across all platforms.Develops producers for succession roles within HPM.Understands brands and manages news so products are consistent with brands.Sets coverage expectations well in advance.Performs other job-related duties as required.Qualifications

Bachelors and 5 years experience. Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.Notes to Applicant

Houston Public Media is seeking an experienced radio host to co-anchor a new daily local talk show in a Top 10 market. Our new midday talk show will feature the stories and voices of the Houston region, and we're looking for someone with a charismatic personality, a curious mind, and a thoughtful approach to join the team as co-host. Our ideal candidate should have several years of experience hosting long-form radio programs or podcasts and be familiar with the public media format. We're looking for someone who has the skills and talent to carry the show solo when needed, but who truly loves being on the air with others. You should love radio but also be hungry to innovate new products and explore emerging media platforms. The Host should have a proven track record of interviewing guests on a variety of topics, from breaking news to pop culture and everything in between. Skills include anchoring live segments and hitting time posts, pitching strong story and segment ideas, and a demonstrated ability to engage with audiences on-air and online.
