OVERVIEW

Steinberg Hart is seeking a Senior Project Accountant with a minimum of 8 years (preferred) accounting experience in the A/E/C industry. The Senior Project Accountant is an integral part of the Accounting team, partnering with the Project Manager (PM), Principal-in-Charge (PIC) and Accounting Management to perform timely and informed project billing and revenue recognition, in accordance with the firm's accounting standards and billing protocols. The role also works in collaboration with Marketing and Contracts Management to budget/track costs and ensure contract administration compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Set-up

Obtain Project Set-up form from PMs and/or PICsSet up and maintain project records in the firm's accounting systemSet up consultant budgets in Deltek VantagepointReview contracts to validate fees and work breakdown structure (WBS)Planning Support and Reporting

Project Planning: Provide on-going training on the set-up and utilization of the project planning toolsWork with PMs to ensure project plans are set-up in Deltek Vantagepoint and maintained monthlyWork with PMs to ensure the backlog is updated monthlyProject Accounting

Project revenue generationMonitor and analyze project fees to ensure proper revenue recognitionReview and approve consultant payables, prior to entry in Deltek VantagepointConsultant payment calculationCommunicate with consultants and PMs to provide payment status and to resolve any billing issuesIn collaboration with PM, work with Contracts Administrator to resolve consultant contract issuesEnsure that consultant invoices and payments are in accordance with consultant contractFollow up on pending Prime contracts and Additional Services Authorizations, to ensure prompt executionWork in collaboration with PM to maintain organized project contracts files folderInvoicing

Distribute draft invoices to PM for reviewGenerate final invoices in client's required format, with required internal signaturesCollections

Update collections projections with anticipated timeframe of collectionsInterface with clients' accounting team to stay abreast of payment status of aged A/RWork in collaboration with PM to resolve any client invoice disputesMaintain AR Hotlist report to track and explain any delinquent AR balancesAttend monthly project review meetings with PMs to discuss any outstanding collections issuesAudit Support

Accounts Receivable reporting and maintain notes on status. Perform Accounts Receivable reconciliation monthlyEnsures project revenue is accurateEnsure consultant WIP is accurate and work with PMs to make any corrections or adjustmentsEngage in WIP review with Accounting team, at the close of each monthRequirements

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of eight (8) years of project accounting experienceBachelor's degree in business-related fieldKnowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint or equivalent project accounting ERP systemStrong knowledge of financial concepts, practices and procedures in the A/E industryExcellent business communication, organization and analytical skillsIntermediate-to-advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including VLookups and pivot tables)Comprehensive understanding of standard commercial terms (i.e., hourly NTE, cost plus, lump sum, etc.)Works well with others under deadlines and responds to changes in priorities

$80,000 - $90,000
