The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation, with a particular focus on insurance defense. The role involves providing comprehensive litigation support from the initial stages of case management through to trial and post-trial proceedings. This includes drafting pleadings, preparing depositions, conducting legal research, managing e-discovery, and preparing pre-and post-trial briefs. Experience with medical chronologies and electronic filing systems is highly desirable. Job Details

We are currently seeking a seasoned Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This role is an excellent opportunity to apply your robust litigation experience in a challenging and rewarding environment. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in pre-and post-trial litigation processes, drafting pleadings, and preparing legal documents. Experience in the medical sector and civil insurance defense will be a significant advantage.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Litigation Paralegal, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties including:

  1. Assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial.
  2. Conducting legal research, gathering, and organizing evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
  3. Drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and filing them with the court.
  4. Preparing for trial by performing tasks such as organizing exhibits, assisting with witness preparation, and attending trials.
  5. Managing and organizing large volumes of complex case-related documents, often in electronic format, and coordinating document productions.
  6. Managing electronic filing systems to ensure the information is easily accessible for legal staff.
  7. Preparing medical chronologies and summaries.
  8. Coordinating the discovery process, conducting document reviews, and ensuring all relevant documents are accounted for.
  9. Utilizing legal management software, preferably Clio, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Permanent Litigation Paralegal position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor's Degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
  2. Paralegal Certification is required.
  3. A minimum of 7 years of experience in litigation, with a strong knowledge of pretrial and post-trial litigation processes.
  4. Demonstrated experience drafting pleadings and preparing legal documents.
  5. Proficiency in electronic filing systems.
  6. Experience with trial preparation and legal document preparation.
  7. Civil insurance defense experience is highly desirable.
  8. Experience in the medical sector, particularly in preparing medical chronologies, is a plus.
  9. Familiarity with legal management software, preferably Clio, is advantageous.
  10. Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
  11. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  12. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  13. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
