We are seeking a

Cataloging Assistant

to assist with a short duration project at the Sheridan Libraries Technical Services Department on the Mt. Washington Campus. The position will assist with reviewing cataloging records for materials for a gift collection of print monographs and ephemera written in Czech. The work includes: reviewing materials and providing information to the Content Management Librarian for Special Collections in order to enhance the records. This work is anticipated to take 4 to 6 months.

Specific Duties & ResponsibilitiesSearch the main library catalog, Catalyst, for the record.Review the item and the record to make sure the record has all necessary and helpful information, including artist identification and information.Record any adjustments that need to be made by the Content Management Librarian for Special Collections.

Special Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to read Czech.Ability to work independently & productively.Ability to learn new skills quickly and thoroughly.

Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or graduation equivalent.One-year related experience.Additional education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred QualificationsBasic familiarity with Windows & Microsoft Office suite.
