We are seeking a

Research Technologist

to be responsible for an ongoing project investigating cardiovascular disease. The technologist will work under the direct supervision of the faculty investigator.

Specific Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage and perform experiments and general laboratory organization and upkeep in a working cardiology laboratory.Perform laboratory experiments by following common protocols or with instruction.

Identify and resolve common problems involved in routine research assays.Manage experiments from sample and reagent preparation to experimental testing and data collection.Analyze data in terms of quality control and experimental diagnostics in preparation for statistical analysis.Ensure careful record keeping of sample information and results to guarantee quality of experimentation.Accountable for operational laboratory management, including tracking supply inventories and ensuring availability of laboratory reagents and material.Carry out routine equipment maintenance and upkeep.Ensure laboratory efficiency by following set protocols for lab cleanliness, organization and safety regulations.Process analyzed data into figures for scientific publications.May scientifically contribute to writing of manuscripts and grants.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.

Preferred QualificationsExperience with molecular biology.Some related post-undergraduate work experience.
