Division Overview:Crowns Food Division is one of the leading manufacturers of food cans in the world. Our complete array of food packaging serves a variety of markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder and other dry food products. We offer a wide selection of food cans from round to bowl as well as shaped cans. We truly focus on excellence. Here is your chance to join the Crown Food Division.

Location: Hanover, PAThe Hanover Plant manufactures 2-piece and 3-piece steel cans for the food industry over 7 shifts. There are approximately 95 employees at the Hanover location. The Hanover Plant is located on Route 194 in York County and is in close proximity to Gettysburg PA, York PA and the Maryland border.

Position Overview:Reporting directly to the Plant Superintendent, the

Manufacturing Supervisor , is responsible for leading the manufacturing team to ensure production of a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Duties And Responsibilities:Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:Coordinates and supervises activities of equipment and workforce throughout the facility with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity, Spoilage and Employee EngagementCommunicates all pertinent information between departments and between shifts on changes to equipment, production schedules, production problems or any other related information.Works with employees on identifying, discussing solutions and implementing fixes on machinery and equipment problemsPerforms and facilitates on the job training, coaching, and performance management of employees as needed or requiredApplies knowledge of various processes, production methods and processes to improve plant productionManages machinery set-up and adjustment and inspects products to ensure compliance to standardsOversees quality and recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal performance within the equipment limitsComplete and/or administer necessary documentation such as production sheets, pallet ticketing, job progressions, disciplinary actions, monthly SAFE cards, time and attendance, accident reports and process control sheetsPerforms other job-related duties as required or assignedShift: Rotating 4 on, 4 off continuous operation work schedule, 5p-5a

Qualifications:Minimum RequirementsHigh School Education/GEDFive to seven year(s) experience in a high speed manufacturing environmentAt least three years of proven leadership experienceMust be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional supportPreferred RequirementsBachelors degreePackaging industry experienceKnowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean ManufacturingCompetenciesStrong problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approachAbility to work independently or with a teamMust be able to look at new solutions and think outside the boxEffective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making, etcDemonstrated employee relations skills and the ability to motivate peopleExcellent time management and project management skills as well as the ability to multi-taskExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)

Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlThe employee may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occassionallySpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus

Working ConditionsGenerally works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office settingWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular trafficThe employee may be exposed to a wide range of temperaturesThe noise level is frequently loud
