Our complete array of food packaging serves a variety of markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder and other dry food products. The Plant manufactures

2-piece and 3-piece steel cans for the food industry working both continuous and conventional shifts. There are approximately 95 employees at the Hanover location. The Plant is located on Route 194 in York County and is in close proximity to Gettysburg PA, York PA and the Maryland border.POSITION OVERVIEW:The Electrician or Electrical Technician will provide support to plant operations through troubleshooting, performing maintenance, repairing and installing of equipment, electrical systems and components.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, the Electrician's responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:Maintain and troubleshoot all electrical systems and devices within the plantKnowledge and understanding of Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs)Assist in new installations and upgrades of plant equipmentConduct process checks as requiredPerform regular safety inspections to ovensWork with outside contractors as needed to complete projects or various plant maintenance functionsKeep work area safe, clean and organizedAssist and support other production floor operations as requiredKeep Manufacturing Supervisor and Maintenance Manager informed of operational status of equipmentComplete all administrative tasks, including log books, data entry and record keeping in proper orderComplete training as identified for continual improvement and development in job related skillsPerform other job-related duties as assigned.*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Minimum RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED2+ years manufacturing experience and/or equivalent job experienceAble to work alternate work schedules including overtime based on business needsAble to use DVM, analog type multi-meter, Amprobe, megger, oscilloscope and soldering stationDemonstrated mechanical aptitudeAble to read and interpret blue prints, schematics and manualsDemonstrate knowledge of basic troubleshooting and calibration for electronicsKnowledge and understanding of OSHA's electrical safe work practices (e.g. Lock-out/Tag-out, NFPA 70 Electrical Code, NFPA 79 Machinery Standards)Preferred RequirementsAssociate's Degree in Electrical Technology, Journeyman's Card or other Electrical Technology CertificationExperience programming and setting up, troubleshooting and diagnosing Allen Bradley PLCsExperience with HMI programming and set-upKnowledge of PLC Network programming and set-upAble to effectively use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)Knowledge of variable speed drives (programming and set-up)Experience with high pressure hydraulics and pneumaticsExperience with automated material handling systemsExperience troubleshooting magnetic controls (e.g. switches, relays and solenoids)Knowledge and experience terminating transformers and electric motorsBasic knowledge of servo and stepper motors and drivesExperience with installing and fashioning electrical conduit and installing electrical wireway and associated hangersPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlThe employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Able to sit/stand for 8-12 hour shiftsWorking ConditionsGenerally works in a plant environmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to lifting, warehouse and forklift trafficMay be exposed to a wide range of temperaturesProduction noise levels are frequently loudBENEFITS:Crown offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits including free company paid health insurance for employees as well as Company matched 401(k) and active hourly Pension Plan.Crown is an equal opportunity employer.
