Position Summary

The Engineering Student Success Center is seeking anenergetic, highly motivated individual to lead the UNM School of Engineering'srecruitment and enrollment efforts.Thequalified individual will be responsible for recruiting students fromthroughout New Mexico as well from out-of-state locations.

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual with theability to prepare and deliver small and large group presentations.The incumbent should expect a great deal ofpersonal interaction on a regular basis.The position requires a high degree of energy and professionalism ashe/she will work independently, and sometimes as a member of a team, whenrepresenting the University and the School of Engineering at recruitmentevents.There will be many times when itis necessary for the individual to work in the evenings and/or weekendsdepending on scheduled recruitment events or activities.Represents UNM across New Mexico and surrounding states tovisit middle schools, high schools, and community colleges for the purpose ofspeaking with individual students and groups in order to recruit students tothe UNM School of Engineering;Coordinates and oversees the year-round Engineering campusvisits and tours for middle school and high students interested in pursuingEngineering or Computer Science degrees. This includes planning for schoolvisits to UNM, coordinating UNM information sessions, conducting demopresentations to elementary, middle school and high school students, and/orproviding career and academic counseling about educational and degree programsin the School of Engineering;Recruits and provides support to outreach and summerprograms. This includes creating promotional material, visiting schools andcollecting and assessing applications from high school students;Collects, analyzes, and reports enrollment data forundergraduate recruitment efforts for the School of Engineering. Analyzesinformation on recruitment and retention and develops strategies for programdevelopment;Creates resource materials, packages, distributes studentrecruitment materials;Performs other duties as assigned.See the Position Description for additional information.

Conditions of Employment

Ability to travel by vehicle or air, locally, statewide and/or out of state.A valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a valid driver's license within thirty days of hire, is required for this job.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree;at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

College/university student recruitment experienceKnowledgeof Engineering and Computer Science curriculums at a university/college levelAtleast 2 years experience employed in a higher education settingFamiliar with UNM programsExperience managing and making business travel arrangements with the use of a corporate credit cardExperience with UNM Purchasing Card Policies & ProceduresExperience submitting Chrome River reports

Additional RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 30 lbs in order to carry recruitment material on and off campus.Must possess current valid drivers license.
