Position Summary

The IT Support Tech 2, will be an essential field supporttechnician capable of performing basic application support and performingworkstation and, computer/laptop inventory tasks.Consistent with theSchool of Engineering's IT tiered support model, the position fieldsSOE-specific service requests presented by SOEIT and through UNM's CustomerSupport Systems such as Help. NM/Cherwell.

The Support Technician is an area-specific field agent andis expected to resolve or escalate a range of requests for the School ofEngineering departments. This position will be primarily located in theDepartments of Chemical & Biological Engineering and Nuclear Engineeringbut will be available to support other School of Engineering departments asneeded. This position will also play an integral role in spearheadingincreased adoption of Cherwell as a service request management tool.

The successful applicant will have experience working with arange of client technologies as well as a thorough understanding of IT servicemanagement principles and exceptional communication skills and customerservice. They will also have expertise managing area-specific applicationsand device inventory best practices and solutions.

High school diploma or GED;at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
