Position Summary

Summary

The UNM Early Childhood Services Center (ECSC) is seeking a full-time IT Support Technician 1 to work with the Web & Technology Services team. Under general supervision, a successful IT Support Technician will work with other ECSC teams and external partners to troubleshoot, test, and resolve common technical issues; respond to internal support tickets; and install, maintain, test, and repair electronic systems and networks.

The IT Support Technician will work closely with all staff at ECSC to provide first-level technical assistance and information to support various projects and contracts at ECSC. A successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot and solve technical issues for users, manage and maintain a department-wide electronic equipment inventory, and work closely with ECSC staff to identify technological and computer needs for the department.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms basic problem solving and technical assistance on a variety of software applications and hardware systems common to business and university departments such as, but not limited to, Windows OS machines (computers, laptops, tablets, etc), Microsoft Office Apps (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc), and more.Writes and maintains technical documentation and user-friendly guides and "tip sheets" for common issues and processes.Responds to internal support tickets from ECSC staff and external support requests from funders and contract partners in a professional and timely manner.Maintains a department-wide inventory system of electronic equipment in collaboration with other teams and purchasing staff.Collaborates with Main Campus IT to receive and/or deliver computer and electronic equipment between department locations.Provides live/as needed technical support for audio/video technologies in hybrid meetings and trainings hosted by ECSC.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED;at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
