We are currently hiring for teammates in our Production Department, located in Madison, Wisconsin.JOB SUMMARYAs a Production Assistant, you will assist press operators, slitting operators, and/or compounding operators with the set up and operation to produce products per the customer standards. The Production Assistant will appropriately understand and follow the plant's OHSE and Quality Systems to maintain a safe workplace and ensure quality product.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist in the set-up and operation of printing and slitting equipment to meet quality and productivity requirementsComplete documentation in an accurate mannerMaintain housekeeping standards of production equipment and the surrounding areaPreform packing and material handling tasks as neededPreform work in the cleaning roomPreform core cutting as requiredResponsible for helping the site meet their quality objectivesFollow all company safety rules and proceduresWork in set up area as requiredAssist with training as requiredMaintain a safe and clean working environmentMove product in plant using fork truck or other PIVPreform related duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GEDAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsDemonstrate ability to work well under pressureGood oral and written communication skillsGood math skills - able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measureDemonstrate ability to maintain excellent quality productsAble to pay attention to detailsProficient navigating a computerAble to lift up to 50 poundsLANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and legibly complete time cards and work orders.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to other employees of the organization.Ability to effective present information and respond to questions form groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
