We are seeking two highly skilled Principal Cloud Engineers to join our growing team, reporting directly to the Director of Cloud Networking. These roles are critical in designing, deploying, and managing complex multi-cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and GCP. The ideal candidates will have deep technical expertise and proven experience in engineering cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and optimized for performance.

As a Principal Cloud Engineer, you will be a key player in our cloud transformation efforts, utilizing your advanced engineering skills to create innovative solutions that meet our business needs. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of cloud technologies and provide ongoing support and optimization for our cloud environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

Design and Deployment: Architect, design, and deploy complex multi-cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and GCP, ensuring they meet business and technical requirementsInfrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Deployment Manager for consistent and repeatable cloud infrastructure deploymentSecurity and Compliance: Implement security best practices across all cloud environments, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirementsPerformance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of cloud infrastructure, addressing any bottlenecks and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and scalabilityAutomation: Build and maintain automation scripts and processes to streamline cloud operations, including deployment, scaling, and monitoringTroubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime for critical systemsCost Management: Analyze and optimize cloud costs across multiple platforms, implementing cost-saving measures and ensuring efficient resource utilizationCollaboration: Work closely with the Director of Cloud Networking and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions. Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud servicesYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, with a solid focus on deploying and managing solutions across 2 or more of Azure, AWS, and GCP3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tool Terraform. Similar experience in CloudFormation, or Deployment Manager considered3+ years of experience with scripting skills in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash3+ years of Multi-Cloud Expertise: Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing complex multi-cloud environments, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities of each platform3+ years of cloud security experience: In-depth knowledge of cloud security practices, including identity and access management, network security, encryption, and compliance with security frameworks such as NIST1+ relevant certification in Azure, AWS, and GCP (e.g., Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect)Preferred Qualifications:

Problem-Solving: Proven excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and implement effective solutionsTeam Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, with a focus on sharing knowledge and continuous improvementSelf-Motivated: Proven highly self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a proactive team player

The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
