Job Description
Key Responsibilities: - Manage accounts payable and receivable - Process invoices, payments, and reconcile bank statements - Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, trial balances, and financial reports - Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and job costing for construction projects - Handle payroll for company employees, ensuring accurate tax withholdings and compliance with state and federal regulations - Monitor and report on cash flow and project expenses - Coordinate with project managers and suppliers to resolve billing and payment issues - Assist with financial audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures - Maintain records of expenses, employee time, and job progress for accurate project costing - Use accounting software for data entry and financial reporting - Support month-end and year-end closing processes - Maintain documentation and file all financial records according to company standardsQualifications: - Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably within the construction industry - Strong knowledge of accounting software and principles and construction-related job costing - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping - Familiarity with payroll and tax regulations - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and vendors - Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel - Experience with construction management software is a plusEducation & Experience: - High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred - Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in the construction or contracting industryBenefits: - Competitive salary - Paid time off (PTO) - 401(k) plan with company match - Opportunity for career growth within the company
