Credentialing SpecialistFull Time; FTE 1.0DaysRock Island, ILThe Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the privileging of new Medical Staff and Allied Health Professional Staff applications, reappointment applications and requests for new privileges for the Trinity Medical Center Medical Staff.This position is responsible for timely processing and tracking of Medical Staff files, including primary source verification, review of information, and additional research as needed. This position shall serve as a liaison between providers, physician hospital organization (PHO), System CVO staff and regulatory agencies.Why UnityPoint Health?Culture

Visit us at UnityPoint.org/careers to hear more from our team members about why UnityPoint Health is a great place to work. https://dayinthelife.unitypoint.orgResponsibilities:Initial and reappointment credentialing for delegated credentialing processesSend applications and record in SharePoint accordinglyInput data into credentialing software and keep appropriately updatedPrepare/Validate all privileging information is accurate and prepare for Credentials Committee discussion as well as Medical Executive Committee and local Board.Discuss any privilege delineations with Credentialing Committee Chair and other appropriate personnel prior to the Credentialing meeting.Assure required education for new privileges are metCreate new privilege delineation forms in accordance to national standardsPrepare packet for presentation at required approval meetings, obtain signaturesNotify appropriate members on provider approval and suspensionsAny extra requirements posed by the medical center such as restraint or fire safety trainingAssure collection of Medical Staff Fees and DuesEnsure life certifications are currentEnsure all EKG providers have privilegesReview terminations/notifications

Qualifications:Required:High School Diploma or GED requiredExcellent communication skills both written and verbal.Knowledge of hospital credentialing.Knowledge of regulatory requirements from TJC, NCQA, CMS.Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital/medical related rolePreferred:Associates Degree preferred.Database experienceCPCS certifiedValid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
