Accounting Manager
is responsible for supervising and leading the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. Provide team leadership in cash management, accounts payable, general ledger analysis, month-end close, reconciliations, ATM proprietary settlement, fixed assets and timely completion of monthly financial reporting. Responsible for development, maintenance and performance of departmental procedures. Promotes accounting service training and cross-training to excel in accounting service performance. Insures responsibility of backup coverage for departmental duties during absences. Instrumental in support of internal and external audit. Takes leadership initiative in project assignments and participates in process improvements focusing on efficiency and process controls. Lead by example in excellent member service to internal and external Purdue Federal members and be a role model of Purdue Federal values.*Employees are expected to adhere to all rules and regulations applicable to this position, including but not limited to all policies and procedures pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):* Accounting Service and Settlemento Assist and lead in daily processing and reconciliation of GL/correspondent bank accountso Manage GL entries related to all credit union accountso Assists in daily accounting activities and responsible for ensuring proper internal controls and compliance with GAAPo Assist and lead ATM and Branch cash management and reconciliation of bank accounts and outstanding items entrieso Responsible for providing monthly financial reports, statistical and regulatory reporting, including quarterly call report and annual external audit.o Additional reporting and information gathering in support of internal and external audito Responsible for fixed asset and accounts payable process and reconciliation to GL's* Supervisiono Build team communication and improve internal and external member serviceo Recommend and implement departmental procedures to improve time management and stream-line daily accounting operation processeso Maintain up to date and monitor enforcement of department procedureso Direct involvement in department hiring, supervision, training, and review of the professional development of staffo Promote dialog with staff and with management* Special Projectso Assist with departmental projects as assigned by manager* Individual and Team Developmento Continuous learning and exploring of systems* Oversees processing of Accounts Payable* Oversees Cash orderingo Fed casho Security Inc. vaulto Branch casho ATM/ITM replenishmento Month-end closing and reconciliationso Managing, coaching, mentoring and training accounting teamRequired SkillsKnowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:*
Education and Credentialso Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or other related fields*
