As one of the most respected Specialty Infusion providers in America, we service thousands of patients nationwide through our growing network of branches and healthcare professionals.Amerita's intake coordinator are responsible for working in coordination with the sales and pharmacy teams process patient referrals and admissions in a timely manner. Intake coordinators must gather necessary patient information to create patient records and working with insurance providers to verify insurance coverage and authorize services. The Intake coordinators are often the first point of contact for patients and referrals sources and must create and maintain a positive, calm and supportive atmosphere; emphasizing personal interest and compassion for our patients.This Intake Coordinator position is an Onsite Monday - Friday 8:30a - 5:00p.* Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits plus, HSA & FSA Savings Accounts* Supplemental Coverage - Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity Insurance* 401(k) Retirement Plan with Employer Match* Company paid Life and AD&D Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability* Employee Discounts* Tuition Reimbursement* Paid Time Off & Holidays
Responsibilities
Responsible for processing referrals received from referral sources.
Ensures that all required documentation has been received to process the referral timelyEnsures Intake referral checklists are completeEnters patient demographic, insurance and authorization information into the computer systemObtains authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers and documents this in the computer systemEnsures that insurance verification is completed, and authorization is in place or requested prior to giving the referral to a pharmacist.Understands which insurance companies have contracts with AmeritaCommunicates with other departments including Sales and pharmacy staff regarding the status of the referrals and any authorization requirements and out of pocket cost required to be collected before deliveryCompletes documentation of progress notes in computer systemNotifies patients/caregivers regarding insurance coverage and payment responsibilitiesMaintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or some college preferredMinimum two (2) years of experience collecting referral information in the healthcare marketExperience working with all payer types, including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance companiesKnowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification proceduresUnderstands the scope of services that Amerita can provideStrong verbal and written communication skills
