The Executive Legal Secretary (Bankruptcy) provides comprehensive administrative support to attorneys in the Bankruptcy Section, ensuring confidentiality and effective collaboration with coworkers, clients, and attorneys. Key responsibilities include drafting legal documents such as briefs and motions, coordinating multi-document filings in bankruptcy courts via Pacer, and maintaining case information in Court Alert. The role also involves organizing case materials, managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and handling billing processes. The secretary will manage client interactions, assist with travel arrangements, and ensure timely mail delivery. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, document management systems (NetDocs), and familiarity with bankruptcy court filing rules is essential.
Candidates should have 3-5 years of bankruptcy experience, preferably in mid-to-large law firms, and be well-versed in Pacer e-filing and advanced word processing features like document formatting and proofreading. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment are critical. The role demands excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team. Overtime may be required. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. The position offers a dynamic work environment where adaptability and a proactive approach are valued.
