LCRA is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced voice-centric senior-level network engineer to join a diverse team of individuals responsible for maintaining and developing LCRA's telephony and collaboration systems.

You will be trusted to:

- Design, install and troubleshoot voice and collaboration systems including Cisco Call Manager, Unity voicemail, Finesse, WebEx, Verint call recorders, and Variphy for CDR and support for legacy PBX/analog systems- Design, install and troubleshoot local area networks (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and campus wireless (WLAN)- Identify best and least cost network solutions that meet stringent security and availability requirements.- Solve problems causing system outages including identifying issues with hardware, operating system, application and capacity.- Act as the owner of a problem through resolution. Analyze issue and take actions to resolve problems (including Root Cause Analysis and Problem Remediation).- Draft, update and follow detailed work instructions relating to network maintenance.- Act as subject matter expert while working with vendors, documenting best practices and configure network tools.- Document changes made to systems or equipment through appropriate communications and record keeping practices. Document work into logs, files, system prints and other records and through communications, both verbal and written, with other team members and supervisors.- May provide on-the-job training and guidance for colleagues with less experience.

You qualify with:

- Nine or more years of experience in designing and/or operating networks or relevant experience. A degree(s) in information technology, computer science or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

You are a great fit with:

- CCNP Enterprise or Collaboration preferred or equivalent experience- Experience with layer 2 and layer 3 troubleshooting. Ability to use Cisco Embedded packet capture for analysis- Knowledge of network security and related technologies- Experience with current Cisco VoIP systems as well as legacy Nortel Meridian- Experience with a variety of related management tools that include SolarWinds Orion, and Infoblox (DDI), Call Detail Recording (CDR)
