Principal Responsibilities:
Administers prescribed medications and treatments as defined by state regulations in accordance with approved techniques and notes time and amount on resident's chart.Deliver routine daily medications as prescribed by physician to residents; pass resident medications by physician orders and as stated on the Medication Administration Record (MAR).Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms and records; Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered and reports to nursing supervisor.Presents medication to residents and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified proceduresDocument completion of tasks delivered daily; Document any observed change of condition following local rules and regulations.Communicate between Med Techs/Med Aides about resident needs for consistent quality services.Participate in meal service including serving, clearing, and cleaning the dining room; Ensure that residents are positioned appropriately for meals; Ensure that appropriate utensils are within reach of residents; Serve food trays and assist with feeding as indicated; deliver and document all a.m., p.m., and bedtime snacks and supplements; Provides hydration to all residents according to center policy.Responsible for knowledge of proper procedures to provide personal care services to residents; provide requested personal care services to residents.Observe the resident, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify Nurse Supervisor or Physician of resident's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.Records and restocks medication inventories.Prepares equipment and aids nurses during treatments and examination of residents.Checks residents in section regularly; Answers call light promptly; Follows through with resident problems or needs by delivering care or reporting to supervisor depending upon the level of ability and nature of the resident need.Provides residents' hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assists with travel to the bathroom; helps with showers and baths.Provides resident comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting residents; answering residents' call lights and requests; and reporting observation of the resident to the nursing supervisor.Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.Requirements:
Valid state license(s)Excellent verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skillsHigh integrity and well-grounded work ethicAgility and flexibility with changing priorities
