We are currently seeking a Quality Inspector II to join our team based in Houston, TX.About the JobThis position is responsible for supporting the on-specification (inspection/quality) and on-time (expediting) delivery of equipment and/or material ordered for TEN projects. To accomplish this the VPM Inspector will utilize the VPM organization (team), processes, and systems to manage supplier purchase order quality conformity. The VPM function, accountable to the Global Sourcing and Procurement organization, is a key role supporting TEN project delivery. The VPM Inspector will work on projects as a dedicated resource for USA based suppliers.This position will generally have responsibility for inspection (primary) and expediting (secondary) activities on vendor premises to ensure the conformity of supply against the contractual requirements including but not limited to visual inspection, dimensional inspection, NDE review/witnessing, final testing witnessing and documentation review (relevant to scope). The equipment subject to these activities includes: mechanical equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, API centrifugal pumps, compressors, packaged equipment. We offer you not only a job, but an inspiring journey in a truly global environment where you team up to break down boundaries thanks to the innovation, creativity and pioneer spirit which drive our people.Job Scope: Coordinate inspection activities (what/where/when) with the TEN VPM Coordinator, supplier and TEN contracted 3rd party inspection agencies in accordance with the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan) and Fabrication QC Plan Inclusive of obtaining latest PO, drawings/documents to support inspection activities Conduct on-site inspection / expediting visits, to regional suppliers when assigned by VPM Inspection Resource Management Teams Review / monitor approved shop inspection process / procedures Examine equipment for compliance to technical specifications / drawings Oversee NDE activities (MT/PT/RT/UT) Other test witnessing / hold points per TEN ITP and FQCP (Fabrication QC Plan) Produce key inspection deliverables related to own scope (e.g. Pre-inspection meeting report, Pre-fabrication meeting report, inspection/expediting report(s), flash report(s), Inspection Release Note, supplier punch list / outstanding worklist, non-conformance reports,...) Sign-off "reviewed" on applicable manufacturing records (e.g. Mill Test Certificates, MDRB's,...) Maintain organized and accurate records for own scope utilizing assigned tools (e.g. Document Management Systems, MSTeams,...) Search for, identify, and immediately report supplier fabrication schedule impacts using the tools, processes, and communication channels for own orders. Impacts may be resultant of but not limited to the following: Documentation submittal (supplier to TEN) Documentation return (TEN to supplier) Sub-suppliers' performance Material deliveries, shop space, etc Search for, identify, and immediately report supplier fabrication quality impacts using the tools, processes, and communication channels for own orders Initiate and follow-up on quality issues with relevant stakeholders (e.g. VPM management, QAQC,..) Search for, identify, agree, and coordinates schedule mitigation strategies with supplier, Project VPM Manager and Project Management team while following the implementation through resolution. Act as leader / coordinator for seconded inspection personnel (e.g. sub-supplier locations) Perform, as required, shop survey's for new suppliers or re-certification activities Contributes to the supplier and 3rd party agencies' performance evaluations covering schedule, quality (Non-conformity) Contributes and supports development / awareness training to junior VPM personnelAbout YouWe'd love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 7 years experience in technical field | supplier shop Versed in industry codes (ANSI B31.3, 31.4, 31.8 | ASME Section V, IX | API 510, 570, 620, 650, 936, 963 | AWS D1.1) Welding and manufacturing technology knowledge Materials and equipment knowledge to collaboratively challenge production schedules Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-generational, team-orientated, collaborative environment. Available to work flexible hours (when warranted) to coordinate suppliers, agencies, or other TEN offices that may be located internationally Mobility / travel (~75% of working time) Proficient with MS Excel, MSWord, virtual meeting platforms Excellent interpersonal and communication skills English language (spoken | written) Certifications: AWS Welding Inspector (AWS CWI or SCWI) or Educator (AWS CWE), NDE Level II (VT, MT, PT, UT, RT) Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift and carry up to 25lbs, use stairs and ladders unassisted, stoop and bend freely, walk up to 1 mile unaided Meet STN-TC-1A visual acuity requirements Nice to have: Bachelor's degree (supply chain, engineering) Available to travel internationally (if warranted) Knowledge of scheduling and milestone tracking Knowledge of (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) EPC, or fabrication information lifecycles acquired through direct experience Other language (French, Spanish, or Italian) proficiency (spoken | written) Certifications: ARAMCO, API-SIRE, NACE Level II Inclusion StandardsIn our continuous journey to developing and building culture of inclusion, we adhere to four Inclusion Gold Standards.
