The
Claims Coordinator
will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the claims process for our property and casualty clients. This role involves communication with clients, insurance carriers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth and efficient claims experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong customer service orientation. This position reports to the Director of Strategic Partnerships.Responsibilities:Receive notices of incidents and potential losses - determine next steps and if coverage appliesReceive, review, and process claims documentation from clients and insurance carriers. Ensure all necessary information is collected and accurately entered into the systemMaintain accurate and organized records of all claims activities. Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to insurance carriers and clientsWork closely with insurance carriers to facilitate the claims process, including follow up, negotiations, and resolution of any issuesEnsure all claims activities adhere to industry regulations and company policies. Stay informed about changes in regulations and proceduresIdentify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in claims processing. Escalate complex cases to senior staff or management as neededDeliver exceptional service to clients, ensuring their needs are met and providing support throughout the claims process. Exercise independent judgment and decision-makingSupport claims process through research and expertiseIdentify problematic claims and take action to mitigate potential adverse effectsServe as a technical resource to sales and service teams to answer coverage and procedural questionsAssist Claims Consultant with loss reports and present them to large middle-market clientsMaintain proper documentation and use of Agency management systemsCreate and maintain a positive work environment build trust, open communication, creative thinking & cohesive teamworkSupport Alera Group culture by leading by examplePerforms other duties and projects as requiredQualifications:
1-2 years of experience in a claims handling or insurance-related role within Property and CasualtyPossess or willing to obtain a Property & Casualty licenseAbility to read, analyze, and interpret insurance coveragesUnderstands proper management of workers compensation claimsGood customer service and interpersonal and analytical skillsSelf-starter, imaginative and creative with good communication skills (verbal and written)
