We are seeking a highly motivated Full Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic Energy Software team at Tesla. In this role, you will be a member of the team that owns the software stack for our 350,000 rooftop solar systems. Additionally, you will be adding sought after functionality to empower the Service teams to keep our fleet of IoT solar devices healthy and connected. The ideal candidate will have some experience in both embedded and server-side environments and enjoy being empowered to solve end-to-end problems.As a member of our team, you will focus on embedded software written in Python and C, and server-side data ingestion pipelines, APIs and UIs written in C#. The ideal candidate will possess a profound passion for creating exceptional software, along with a proven track record in delivering successful customer-facing features and performing complex migrations in keeping technology stacks up to date. Success in this role will require robust software engineering skills, strong interpersonal communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset for providing and receiving constructive feedback on technical designs and code reviews.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain software systems Tesla's fleet of rooftop solar productsCollaborate on design assessments and code reviews: Contribute insights during team discussions to promote quality and innovation while mentoring peersDevelop strategies for deployment, scaling, and monitoring of applications: Create and refine processes for seamless deployment and robust performance trackingAnalyze complex issues related to scalability, reliability, performance, and security: Investigate technical challenges, identify root causes, and integrate security measures into the development processOwn projects and identify opportunities for operational improvements taking responsibility for initiatives and streamlining workflows for greater productivityAdapt to shifting priorities and manage new initiatives aligned with strategic goalsImplement rigorous testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and stress testing, to ensure the reliability and performance of applications under various conditionsActively maintain and promote the core values of the team, which include engineering excellence, curiosity, a bias for action, self-awareness, inclusivity, and vulnerability, contributing to a positive and productive team cultureCollaborate with other departments and stakeholders to facilitate open communication ensuring that all aspects of the project are aligned and synergisticRequirements
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience3+ years of professional experience utilizing C#, C, Python or Java to effectively develop and maintain software systemsIn-depth knowledge of database design and modeling principles and SQL to design and implement efficient and scalable data storage solutionsProven experience in building scalable systems, with a focus on designing and developing systems that can handle increased traffic and workload without compromising performanceUnderstanding of automated testing and deployment processes, including familiarity with relevant tools and methodologies, to ensure seamless integration and continuous improvementStrong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise communication of technical concepts and ideasCompensation and BenefitsBenefits

$140,000 - $252,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
