Responsibilities and Duties:

•Produce and document all journal entries required for the close process including prepaid expense amortization,inventory entries and other scheduled journal entries•Responsible for preparation of internal and external financial statements, bank reconciliations and other accountreconciliations•Assists in producing error-free accounting reports and presenting their results•Analyze financial information and summarize financial status•Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures•Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process•Provide input into department's goal setting process•Support the preparation of financial statements and support the production of the budget according to schedule•Responsible for filing of sales tax returns and property tax returns•Lead sales tax audits and property tax audits•Lead month-end and year-end close process•Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls•Ensure compliance with GAAP principles•Participate in periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliations•Assist accounts payable with preparation and approval of annual 1099's for vendors•Provide oversight over the accounts receivable and accounts payable close processes: verifying, ensuring allallocations are up to date, posting and reconciling accounts receivables and payables•Liaise with Accounting Controller and Sr. Finance & Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures•Other duties as assigned

Key hard knowledge/skills/experience:

•BS degree in accounting required•3+ years accounting experience in corporate setting; experience in construction, manufacturing or agriculturepreferred•5+ years' experience independently closing financials•1+ year supervisorial experience with at least one direct report preferred•Mastery of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)•Independent preparation of all three financial statements: P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement•Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process•Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, Net Suite or similar•Advanced MS Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables•High level of accuracy and keen attention to detail•Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills•Ability to effectively convey information•Ability to analyze, apply logic and creatively resolve complex issues•Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines•Self-motivated and self-directed•Strong verbal and written communication skills•Fluency in English required, Spanish a plus

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $82,000.00 - $110,000.00 Per Year
