Salary: $99,652.80 - $122,532.80 Annually

The Department of Public Works (DPW) has a vacancy for a Land Surveyor! Land Surveyors are licensed professional land surveyors or engineers, and perform highly complex surveys and engineering projects. This position will support DPWs Land Surveying Section providing topographic, boundary, and construction services for Road Improvement and Bridge Projects, County Airports, Wastewater, and the Parks & Recreation Department, both in the office and field. This exciting job offers a broad range of projects that can take you from the trails of San Diego’s Park Preserves to large scale construction or reviewing Record of Surveys or complex subdivision maps.
The Land Surveyor is used in the Department of Public Works and the Department of General Services. The established list may be used to fill vacancies in both departments.
Hiring Timeline & Dates

- Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
- Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.

Minimum Qualifications
- Registration as a licensed Land Surveyor (Business and Professions Code), OR
- Registration as a Civil Engineer with the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers, with the authority to practice land-surveying work (Business and Professions Code).
Note: Land Surveyors must be licensed by the State of California as a Professional Land Surveyor (Business and Professional Code).
